i believe: an oratorio for humanity
May 23 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm$25 – $50
As a culmination to our 30th anniversary season, the South Coast Chorale will present the North American West Coast premiere of i believe: an oratorio for humanity, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi camps. Through music, this 80-minute choral work tells a story of hate, survival, and hope from within the minds of the victims and perpetrators but looks towards the future with optimism in the belief that all will coexist as humanity. Choruses and singers from the Long Beach area will join the South Coast Chorale, a full orchestra, a children’s choir, guest artists and narrators for a true community tribute. Two performances will take place on May 23rd and 24th at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center. Tickets will go on sale in March and range from $25 to $50 with discounts for youth and students.
