JUNE 2019

Songs Of Stonewall closes our 29th season with a look back 50 years to one of the most important days in LGBT history.

In the early morning hours of June 28, 1969 a police raid ensued at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar on Christopher Street in New York City. While the juke box played, a violent, forceful and unconstitutional act occurred as armed police officers removed the employees and patrons from the bar. For the next 6 days, Christopher Street became a war zone as the community fought back and the LGBT liberation movement was born.

Join us as we remember the past, honor the courage of our heroes and celebrate the freedoms born in a musical journey through the Songs Of Stonewall.
