30th Anniversary Season Update
In accordance with City of Long Beach and State of California mandates on public events and in partnership with our performance venues, the remainder of our 2019-2020 season has been suspended as a proactive measure in support of public health related to COVID-19.
Our singers, staff and board have moved to virtual activities in an effort to continue to build community, strengthen our musicality, plan for the future of the organization and support each other during this unprecedented time.
SCC’s artistic staff are working behind the scenes to create a number of scenarios for our 2020-2021 season. We remain excited for and committed to rescheduling our North American West Coast premiere of i believe – an oratorio for humanity, as well as planning other concerts aligned with our mission. The health and well-being of our patrons, singers and families is our highest priority and we will continue to keep that at the forefront as we consider all future plans.
These are difficult times for all of us, but they are drastically affecting arts organizations. The extended choral and singing industry will experience a much more difficult recovery time. Without any performance related income, we are reducing many of our regular operating expenses to ensure that the support previously received can help us sustain until it is safe to perform again. Your continued support of the South Coast Chorale is now our lifeline. Words cannot properly express how grateful we are for you and how much we look forward to sharing our musical messages with you soon!
Stay Safe – Be Well – Take good care of yourselves and each other!
